Mountbatten – Activate command mode

Mountbatten – Activate command mode

Problem

You wish to enable command mode for more advanced functionality of the Mountbatten Brailler.

Applies to:

  • Mountbatten
  • Mountbatten Whisperer

Resolution

The Mountbatten has two main modes of operation Learn mode and Advanced mode. In Learn mode it operates much as a traditional Perkins Brailler does with few extra facilities, however when switched to Advanced mode provides many advanced features.

Toggle Learn/Advanced modes

  1. Press LF (backtab), RF (tab), New Line, and Space together. This toggles the command button on/off. Check that it says "Commands on".
  2. Press the Command button.
  3. Type "adv" (dot 1, dots 1-4-5, dots 1-2-3-6).
  4. Press Enter.

For reference see the illustration below for how this looks on the keyboard.
