Mountbatten - Soft and hard resets

Problem

A Mountbatten unit is no longer working as expected, a reset may fix the problem.

Resolution

Please use both procedures in turn to see if they will resolve the problem.

Soft reset

  1. Please disconnect all cables (except power) and turn off the Mountbatten.
  2. Press and hold down New Line (left bottom key) + Command + dot 2 + Backspace.
  3. With the above keys held power on the Mountbatten unit.
  4. Release the keys once the Braille head starts moving.
    This will reset all the commands to the Factory default.

Hard reset


Importand
Using the had reset will reset any user settings saved in the unit.
  1. Please disconnect all cables (except power) and turn off the Mountbatten.
  2. Then press and hold Space (right bottom key) + Command + dot 5 + Enter key.
  3. With the above keys held power on the Mountbatten.
  4. Release the keys once the head is moving.

    This will reset all the commands and the memory to the Factory default.
