Mountbatten Tutor – Check firmware version

Information

The Mountbatten runs on internal software which is periodically updated. It is a common troubleshooting step to check what version is running and check if an update is available.

Steps

Checking the firmware version on the unit.

  1. Press Menu button to open the menus.
  2. Then navigate to More Options > System > Device information.

Updating firmware

If it is determined that firmware needs to be updated one can follow the process below having obtained the correct download.

  1. Download latest firmare that has been provided
  2. Unzip the firmware ZIP file by right click and choose Extract All in the menu.
  3. Copy the the MBUPDATE.TUT folder and its contents in the root folder of a Pen drive (USB thumb memory)
  4. Then connect so prepared USB drive to the right-hand USB socket on the MBTutor
  5. While the USB drive is placed in the socket (when MB Tutor is on), you will hear a message "USB memory connected” spoken.
  6. Then press menu and navigate to System -> Update device
  7. after an additional prompt, the update process will start automatically.
