Problem
The laptop has abnormally low battery performance in use or cuts out almost instantly when disconnected from mains power.

Resolution
Battery performance can degrade normally over time as a result of normal operation as the battery chemistry begins to break down. Therefore obtain battery cycle count information may provide useful information by which to judge whether the battery has become exhausted.
- Open HP Support Assistant and then click "My PC".
- Click "Diagnostics and tools" then "HP Battery check".
- This should then show the health of the battery, click on "Show advanced information".
- Then please send a screenshot of the resulting information.
Download HP Support Assistant
If the HP support asistant is not on you machine you can download using the steps below:
- With a browser visit the page: https://support.lenovo.com/gb/en
- Then click the button Download HP Support Assistant application.
- Double click the downloaded file to begin installation and follow the on screen instructions.
- After completing installation open Start, then search HP Support Assistant to open the application.
