Problem

When using ZoomText 2021 with Microsoft Office 2016 applications (i.e. Word 2016, Excel 2016) are restarting, closing, or crashing when ZoomText 2021 is in use. Known examples include when working with comments or spellcheck in a Word document.

Resolution

This can be caused by the AccEvents AHOI module. This module listens for certain accessibility events but can conflict on Office 2016.
The AccEvents module can be disabled to work around this issue.

1. In the ZoomText window, go to Support, then Tools.
2. In the Fix-It Commands section, type "ahoi" then click Fix-It.
3. This will show a list of "AHOI" modules in ZoomText. Locate "accEvent" in the list, and click Remove Module, then close the AHOI dialog box.
4. Restart the PC for this to take effect.
