ONYX OCR not working

Problem

An Onyx OCR unit may exhibit one of the following problems:

  1. "PC pass through" showing on screen.
  2. Does not change from OCR mode to magnification mode.
  3. The menu bar does not show on the bottom either.

Resolution

Please perform the following steps to fix your issue.

  1. Disconnect the unit from power.
  2. Locate the Compact flash card underneath the speech monitor. This CF card is located towards the center underside of the monitor. It is recommended to look through the left side of the unit for better clearence. This CF card has a cloth tab attached to it.
  3. Pull the CF card out and reinsert the card in the same orientation.
  4. With a microfiber towel, clean the speech monitor LCD panel and the edges of the screen. Debris and dust on the screen are known to cause touchscreen related issues.
  5. Reconnect the unit to power and turn on the unit.
