Openbook manual license activation

Problem

This document describes the process to manually activate Openbook ILM license for secure firewalled environments.

Resolution:

  1. On the Windows desktop right click the "Openbook" desktop shortcut icon and run as Administrator.
  2. In Openbook press alt+H to open help menu and choose "Update Authorisation".
  3. At the activation prompt window choose "Start Activation" button and then "Continue" button.
  4. Then click "Enter authorisation number manually" button.
  5. If UAC is enabled on your machine you will be notified about any action to take, click "OK" button to proceed and authenticate with UAC prompt.
  6. Select the "by telepone, fax or fsactivate.com" radio button and click "Enter authorisation number manually" button.
  7. Enter the supplied 20 digit code for the Openbook license into the "Authorisation number" edit field.
  8. Then go to www.fsactivate.com website and chose the "Retrieve an Activation License Code" link.
  9. Then copy the "locking code" number as displayed from the Openbook Activation wizard to the fsactivate.com page locking code field.
  10. Then also copy or retype the 20 digit ILM authorisation number into the "Authorisation number" edit field as well.
  11. To retrieve the license click The "Submit license request" button.
  12. On the next page a license code should be displayed. You can use the copy code button or highlight and copy this manually.

**Note: **
If you receive an error 106 you wil need to contact support@sightandsound.co.uk for a license reset on reporting of the product license serial number.
Then paste the license code into the "license code" edit box in the Openbook activation wizard and lick "Next" button to install the license.
