Outlook – Forward an inbox message as attachment

Problem

You wish to forward a message in your inbox or other mail folder as an attachment to Technical Support that causes a problem with an AT software product so the problem may be analysed or reproduced.

  1. JAWS/ZoomText/Fusion with Outlook (classic)

Resolution

Please chose the set of instructions that best suit how you use your computer. 


Method 1 - Using a mouse

  1. Open Outlook kto the message list view, then right click to highlight the message you intend to forward.
  2. Then selelect Forward option in the context menu.  A new message window will then open with the To edit box highlighted ready to enter your intended recipient.
  3. Then fill out the other message fields to complete the email, then click 
  4. Enter any contact addressee and other info for subject and body of the message.
  5. Then click the Send button.
 

Method 2 - Using the keyboard

The instructions may be useful for JAWS/ZoomText/Fusion users who have a problem.
  1. Open Outlookk to the message list view, then use the UP/DOWN ARROW keys to locate and highlight the message you wish to forward as a mail attachment.
  2. Then press SHIFT+F10 to open the context menu.
  3. Then press UP/DOWN ARROW keys to select the Forward option, then press ENTER. A new message window will open with the email you highlighted attached to the message.
  4. At the To edit prompt enter the recipient to send the message to, then press TAB and fill out the other fields as normal.
  5. When ready to send press CONTROL+ENTER, the message should then be sent to the recipient with the email attached.
