Pearl - Camera not detected/does not work properly

Problem

The Pearl camera is either not being detected or not working properly with Openbook and other Freedom Scientific BLV products.

Resolution

There is known to be a problem with compatibility between Pearl and newer Intel chipsets, particular those featuring USB 3 support.

Note

The firmware information and updated Openbook software is largely historic and camera units supplied after 2018 should have up to date firmware.
