Problem
An Echo LiveScribe pen user is unable to play back recordings on the computer using the Livescribe + Desktop app.
Applies to
- LiveScribe Echo pen
Resolution
Note
The original Echo Desktop app is no longer supported. The Livescribe + Desktop app can be used and its operation may therefore vary.
Please visit this page to download Windows and Mac OS versions of the app if not already installed:
Please switch to the Pencasts tab in the Livescribe + Desktop app because records do not pay until the recordings are downloaded to the computer first even when you see items in Notebook view where play buttons show.
- Connect your Livescribe Echo 2 pen to your computer and launch the Livescribe + Desktop app.
- Then click on the Pencasts tab in the app. You may wish to confirm the pen is connected in the status line.
- Then click the Sync button on the toolbar, a new dialogue will appear.
- Click any or all items in the list of recordings stored on the pen and click “Download”.
- Then records will when display in the Pencasts list.
- Highlight any recording and click “Play” on the toolbar.
