Caution

Carrying out this procedure will invalidate the currently installed authoirsation. Check you have the serial number noted so a reset can be carried out if required to avoid delays reactivating the software again.

Resolution

Please use the steps below, if the main uninstaller does not work proceed with the steps beyond to manually remove the software.

JAWS program uninstaller

  1. Open the Control Panel/Programs and Features dialog box.
  2. Uninstall the JAWS program with the shared components, and then reboot the system.

If the installation scenario involved problems with installing Microsoft C++ redistributables you may remove these to facilitate reinstallation. However please note that this may affect other applications that may rely on these librariers. Remove the following:
Microsoft Visual C++ redistributables 2005, 2010, 2013, 2015, and 2017. Any other redistributables should not be removed, for they do not affect JAWS.

Files and folders
JAWS installs files and folders into both folders below:

“C:\Program files\Freedom Scientific”
“C:\Program files (x86)\Freedom Scientific”
"C:\ProgramData\Freedom Scientific"

Note

You can use the run command (Windows+R) and enter the varable %ProgramData% into the edit field then click OK button to access the ProgramData folder

In each case remove the Freedom Scientific folder and their contents.
