Reset PRAM or NVRAM to fix issues

Problem:

Macbook doers not hehave as expected or randomely eg. sleep/wake or screen glitching issues.

Resolution:

Note

These steps do not apply to Apple Silicon Macs, PRAM is not user esettable on these machines.

  1. Shut down your Mac.
  2. Press the power button, and as soon as you power up the laptop, then press and hold these keys Command-Option-P-R.
  3. Keep holding down those keys for about 30 seconds until you see the Apple logo appear and then disappear. For older Macs you should wait until you near the second start up chime.
    You may have to reset things like date and time upon restarting your machine.
