Problem

A Mac doers not operate as expected or has a problem that restarting does not resolve.

Resolution

Note

These steps only apple to Intel based Macs product mid 2020 and earlier. 

1. Shut down your Mac.
2. Press the power button, and as soon as you power up the laptop, then press and hold these keys Command-Option-P-R.
3. Keep holding down those keys for about 30 seconds until you see the Apple logo appear and then disappear. For older Macs you should wait until you near the second start up chime.
   You may have to reset things like date and time upon restarting your machine.
