K1000 - Sscanner troubleshooting with Scanconf utility and known models

Problem

You experience issues whilst scanning using some canners with K1000 software.

Resolution

Please refer to the steps below for general troubleshooting of scanning problems with K1000.


Update K1000

  • Check to see if there are multiple entries for the scanner in "Scanner Source". Test each of them. K1000 only works with TWAIN scanner sources.

  • Ensure the scanner is working in Windows via another application or test utilty.

  • Update/reinstall any TWAIN drivers

  • Open ScanConf from "C:\Program Files (x86)\Kurzweil Educational Systems\Diags" and trial and error with the following settings.

  1. Hold Scan = "Never"
  2. Native Scan = "ON"
  3. Simulate Xfer Ready = "Always On"
  4. Show UI = "Don't show UI"
  5. Force Scanner Ready = "On"
