SensePlayer – Update firmware online (using Wi-Fi)

Problem

A Senseplayer user wishes to check for firmware updates on their device.

  1. SensePlayer EZ/ET

Resolution

  1. The SensePlayer must be connected to a wireless network to obtain the software update. 
  2. It is also advisable to have external power to connect for ensuring power is maintained during the update process.

  1. Plug in the mains charger to ensure you have a constant source of power.
  2. Press MENU keys and use arrow keys to navigate to Utilities > Upgrade SensePlayer firmware then press OK.
  3. Then press UP/DOWN ARROW keys to select Upgrade SensePlayer Firmware Online the press OK.  A check will be made if the Senseplayer has new firmware, press OK to proceed to install firmware online.  If no new firmware is available you will get an option to reinstall the current version as well press OK to proceed in that case.
  4. In either case the SensePlayer will immediately begin downloading the update file and emit a series of beeps and provide progress information.  After firmware has been installed the player will restart automatically with the new firmware.

  1. When a new update is found the SensePlayer will automatically download, unpack and install the update.  Sound and vibration indications are provided throughout.  Do not attempt touch the keys whilst the upgrade is in progress.  Please allow the update to install and then restart the device.
