FS Auth - Activation “Error validating license code” (Network License)

Problem

When attempting to activate a Network License for Freedom Scientific product you receive an the message "error validating license code".


Resolution

Step 1 - Check license type

  1. Please click Get detailed product authorisation information, then input the product serial number and click "Submit" button.
  2. When the results table is shown look under the "Type" column and confirm if it shows "multiuser" if anything else is shown such as "Single" or "non network" the license is incompatible with network authorisation.

Step 2 - Check locking code is valid

Please check for a valid locking code. The correct format will start with the numbers 100 separated by a dash followed by five character alpha numeric string. for example 100-12ABC, If you see 10 at the beginning rather than  100 this indicates a possible reason for the invalid activation.
