Sentinel server activation error 201 is posted during re-activation of network license

Sentinel server activation error 201 is posted during re-activation of network license

Problem:

You receive an error 201 when attempting to re-activate a Sentinel license server for JAWS, ZoomText or Fusion products.

Applies to:

JAWS
Zoomtext
Fusion

Cause/explanation:

The activation system needs a new locking code to be generated for successful activation of a network license.

Resolution:

This problem can occur if the Sentinel server has dropped a license and you attempt to re-activate with the same locking code. Causing a new locking code to be generated will allow successful activation using the steps below.

  1. Open the following path to location of hidden/system files:
    “c:\program files\Freedom Scientific\Activator”
Within this folder locate and delete the following files:

FSShell32.dll
FSShellext.dll
HWD.INI

Note: If you do not see the above files, please make sure you have hidden/system/protected operating files showing in folder options.

  1. After deleting the files above open “services.msc” and then stop and restart the “SentinelLM” service. This will force generation of a new locking code which you can use to re-activate the server again.
