An IT admin at an organisation who have purchased a Network License product and requires downloads and technical documentation to assist them with deploying the license on their network.

Resolution

Please find below details to download and install Sentinel Network authorization software.

Software downloads

  1. For network license please visit the Sentinel License Server software download page
  2. Version from About window will show as 9.2.1.0011 when installed.


Server OS compatibility

  1. Since Sentinel is really old we sometimes get enquiries about compatiility with modern Microsoft Server OS. We have not had reported problems with versions such as 2019, 2022 should anyone enquire.
  2. However one should always use the Freedom Scientific package and not a third party Sentinel as license hosting on third party Sentinel is not supported.

Checking license type

  1. Please visit: FS Activate website to check the license type.
  2. Enter the product serial number (Not the 20 digit code).
  3. In the report please look under "Type" and check that you see "Multiuser" for the license type.





Notes

Note:
License types such as "single" or "non-network multiuser" are not suitable for network deployment on the Sentinel server.
