SmartVision - Toggle Talkback speech on or off (SmartVision 2/3)


Problem

A SmartVision 2/3 customer wishes to momentarily disable the Talkback speech on their phone.

 

Applies to

  1. SmartVision 2
  2. SmartVision 3


Resolution

The speech can be convenient toggled on of off to facilitate operation using standard touch gestures by a sighted colleague to fix a problem or when one desires the phone speech to be turned off for a while. 


Disable speech

With speech on press and hold volume up and volume down buttons for at least 3 seconds.  You will then be prompted to confirm the action by activating the OK button in the pop-up notice.


Enable speech

With the speech off press and hold volume up and volume down buttons for at least 3 seconds.  Speech should start immediately if correctly triggered.
