TextHelp – Cloud services and data security by Texthelp apps

Problem

An IT technician requests information on what cloud services Read & Write uses in the course of its operation.

Applies to

  1. Texthelp products

Resolution

The following information has been provided by the developer:

Read & Write

Read&Write does not use cloud services for its local processes, however it does have two features that connect to them - Translation, which uses Google Translate, and Dictation/Talk&Type, which uses Microsoft Online Speech Recognition by default. This is the same online dictation service that is available on Windows 10 or higher by default; Read&Write can be set to use an offline dictation service also built-in to Windows if required.

Use of 2FA

Neither Read and Write or Autocorrect make use of 2FA or interact with personal data in their operation.

Notes
Note
AutoCorrect is a fully local application and thus uses no cloud services. Be advised that AutoCorrect is the new name and version for the previously available Global AutoCorrect, which has since been discontinued.
