Problem

Freedom Scientific provides a download page for previous versions of JAWS going back to version 10.0 but when attempting download with Microsoft Edge, Chrome or Firefox, then download does not appear to start.

Resolution

Recent versions of Microsoft Edge, Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox have withdrawn File Transfer Protocol support. This affects downloads of JAWS 10.0 through 17.0 that were originally offered under FTP. To fix the problem you must select HTTP download support berfore clicking the download link.

1. Visit: https://support.freedomscientific.com/Downloads/JAWS/PreviousVersions
2. Select the drop down for the JAWS version you require.
3. Then select the drop down to the right of the text : "If your corporate firewall prevents you from downloading files using FTP (File Transfer Protocol), choose the HTTP protocol instead."
4. Then select Hypertext Transfer Protocol instead of File Transfer Protocol.
5. Then activate the relevant link for the download you require.
