Information

Below is the procedure for updating BrailleSense 6 and BrailleSense 6 Mini notetakers online.

Note 1

You cannot cancel the update once it has started. You must not reset the unit during an upgrade. You must keep the unit connected to AC power throughout the upgrade process. We recommend you do not touch the BrailleSense 6 while it is updating. It may take up to 60 minutes to update the BrailleSense 6, possibly even longer depending on the speed of your Internet connection and how many Android apps you have installed.

Note 2

The upgrade files are temporarily stored on the flashdisk for installation. If you do not have enough memory available on the flashdisk, the BrailleSense 6 is unable to update until you make room for the upgrade files.

Internet update steps

  1. Please connect to the AC power adaptor for the upgrade process.
  2. Press F1 to open the Start menu and navigate to Utilities > Upgrade BrailleSense 6 Firmware.
  3. Then navigate to Upgrade Online and press ENTER again.
  4. When prompted to continue press ENTER to confirm. The update will then begin to start downloading. Please be patient as the update may take while to download. Please avoid touching any keys whilst the upgrade is in progress the process is automatic.
  5. Upon completion of the upgrade the Program menu will be announced after the unit has restarted.
  6. Press space-V to hear the updated firmware version information
