FS Auth - Update USB dongle license for JAWS/ZoomText/Fusion

Problem

A USB dongle needs to be updated to run a later version of Freedom Scientific software JAWS/ZoomText/Fusion than is currently installed.

Resolution

  1. A USB dongle for JAWS/ZoomText/Fusion may need to have its license updated if a customer has purchased either an upgrade or SMA plan which are not shown on the dongle report.
  2. Once a dongle update has been received please have to hand the DATH update file and use the steps below to conduct the dongle update.

  1. Plug in the dongle to a free USB port.
  2. Open Start menu and search Utilities - [product name] for your installed Freedom Scientific product.  
  3. Then open Dongle Viewer application.
  4. Then TAB to 'Update' button, a dialog titled 'Update Authorization' will appear.
  5. When prompted use ARROW keys to select 'Authorization File' radio button.
  6. Then press TAB to reach 'Browse' button and press ENTER.
  7. In the File Explorer window locate the dongle update DATH file and then then press ENTER. 
  8. The status of the update will be displayed on the main window. Any errors will also be displayed on the window.
  9. To display the current authorization on the dongle, select the 'Refresh' button. Please verify the licenced version in this window.
