Updating JAWS/Zoomtext dongle

Below is a procedure to update authorisation on a JAWS/ZoomText/Fusion dongle.

  1. Plug in your dongle to a PC which has JAWS/ZoomText/Fusion installed.
  2. Start the Dongle Viewer from your Start Menu. On Windows 7 and prior, it is located under All Programs, JAWS/Zoomtext, then Tools. On Windows 8, it is located within JAWS Utilities on the Start screen.
  3. When the dialog appears, the authorization information should be listed in the main window.
  4. Select the 'Update' button. A dialog titled 'Update Authorization' will appear.
  5. You can update using the file attached to this message.
    a. Select the 'Authorization File' radio button.
    b. Press the Browse button. This will allow you to select the dongle update file saved from the email.
    c. When done, select the 'Submit' button.
  6. The status of the update will be displayed on the main window. Any errors will also be displayed on the window.
  7. To display the current authorization on the dongle, select the 'Refresh' button. Please verify the licenced version in this window.
