Using a dongle license

Information

A dongle is a physical device plugged into a free USB port that provides authorisation for Freedom Scientific software products.

Affected products

  • JAWS
  • Zoomtext
  • Fusion

Dongle installation proceedure

  1. Install the Freedom Scientific product JAWS/Zoomtetext/Fusion as normal (Please DO NOT attempt to use the dongle yet).
  2. Restart the computer after conducting the installation.
  3. Whilst the computer is restarting you can then plug in the dongle.
  4. JAWS/Zoomtext/Fusion installations provide all the necessary drivrs for the dongle.
  5. Once running JAWS/Zoomtext/Fusion will attempt to detect and authorise from the dongle authorisation found on the PC.
Note

In some secure environments USB connection is blocked for security reasons. This must be disabled in order to allow dongle authorisation to be detected.
