Using Terminal for screen reader on HIMS BrailleSense notetakers
Information
HIMS notetakers allow the user to establish a connection with a screen reader using USB or Bluetooth connection.

Steps
The steps below assuming a paring relationship or USB connection to t he device to be accessed has already been established.
- Press F1 to open Start menu.
- Then select Utilities > Terminal for screen reader and then ENTER.
- Then select the desired connection type USB or Bluetooth and press ENTER. You should then hear “Terminal Mode” spoken and be receiving Braille output from the connected screen reader.
- Press space-Z chord to exit terminal mode when finished or select another application from Start menu.
Using a second connection
• Terminal can maintain connection with a second device, for example if having connected over USB already you wish to connect to a Bluetooth enabled device separately press Backspace-Space-Enter-P to initiate the second connection.
• Use the keystroke Backspace-Space-Enter-C to toggle between the two active connections.
