A customer may ask if the WeWalk app itself have any influence over the accuracy of their GPS position on a phone.

Detail

GPS is a wireless navigation system that relies on connection with GPS satelites, like all radio devices it mayb e subject to reception difficulties and the surrounding environment.  Furthermore many mapping applications like Google Maps may also use available nearby Wi-Fi access points to help increase accuracy depending on availability.

 


Resolution

The accuracy of GPS positioning is dependant on the following factors:
  1. The capabilities of the GPS receiver hardware on the mobile device.
  2. The qualify of GPS signal being received which may itself be dependant on the surrounding environment where it may potentially block GPS signal or availability of Wi-Fi access points in the immediate area..

Things to try

In case problems persist please try the following:
  1. To improve location accuracy please check location settings to ensure that GPs and Wi-Fi are turned ojn.
  2. Please make sure that the phone operating system is updated and any other software is updated.
