WeWalk – Does the WeWalk app affect GPS accuracy

A customer may ask if the WeWalk app itself have any
influence over the accuracy of their GPS position on a phone.

Resolution
GPS is a wireless navigation system that relies on connection with GPS satelites, like all radio devices it mayb e subject to reception difficulties and the surrounding environment. Furthermore many mapping applications like Google Maps may also use available nearby Wi-Fi access points to help increase accuracy depending on availability. The accuracy of GPS positioning is dependant on the
following factors:
- The capabilities of the GPS receiver hardware on the mobile device.
- The qualify of GPS signal being received which may itself be dependant on the surrounding environment where it may potentially block GPS signal or availability of Wi-Fi access points in the immediate area..
Things to try
In case problems persist please try the following:
- To improve location accuracy please check location settings to ensure that GPs and Wi-Fi are turned ojn.
- Please make sure that the phone operating system is updated and any other software is updated.
