Microsoft - Non-Microsoft Store apps result in prompt to install anyway
Problem
When attempting to install third party software a pop-up message appears stating "The app you are trying to install is not a Microsoft-verified app".

Resolution
When the message "The app you are trying to install is not a Microsoft-verified app" appears you can select the button "Install anyway. Alternatively you can use the steps below to prevent the message appearing in this circumstances.
- Click Start button or press Windows key to open the start menu.
- Then choose Settings app.
- Select Apps > Advanced App Settings.
- Navigate to and open the drop-down control Choose where to get apps, then select Anywhere.
- Then close the Settings window.
Applications for other sources will then be allowed subject to UAC confirmation as normal.
