Windows 11 - change account username

Problem

A customer wishes to change their Windows sign-in user name on a local account on Windows 11.

Restolution

Note

This change does not update any folder names which remain the same only the visible account name is modified.

  1. Click Start button and search Control Panel, then open the result.
  2. Click User Accounts > Change account name.
  3. Then at the prompt enter the name name.
  4. Then click Change Name button to save the changes.
