Windows - Check for Windows 10/11 updates
Problem
A customer is having problems or just wishes to ensure their machine has the latest Microsoft Windows updates.
Resolution
Tip
Microsoft generally schedule regular updates for the second Tuesday of every month. Emergency security and maintenance updates may released separately for urgent fixes. It is therefore sometimes advisable to manually checking for updates if there are particular issues with the computer system.
- Click Start button and then “Settings” cog wheel icon.
- Then click “Update and security” and “Windows Update” in the left hand category panel.
- Then click “Update” button.
- You can close the “Windows Update” window once you see it is downloading updates and carry on working. Remember to check the updates are completed and restart the machine for them to take effect.
