ZoomText - Download list not reading in Microsoft Edge

Problem

Whilst using ZoomText with Microsoft Edge browser the download list does not read well when pointing at objects with the mouse.

Applies to

  1. ZoomText

Resolution

Customers can hover the mouse directly over the filename in the download list to have it spoken but other controls may not speak with ZoomText 2024.2406.

Workaround to read other controls

The following instructions have been tested with ZoomText 2024 but other versions may also work.  Use the steps below to access the download list in Microsoft Edge:
  1. Open the download list by pressing CONTROL+J.
  2. Then use UP/DOWN arrows in the download list. 
  3. Once you have found a file press TAB key to rotate through available controls to hear what they do. 
  4. To activate any button press SPACEBAR.
