ZoomText/Fusion – About the operation of caps lock key

Problem

A customer is running ZoomText/Fusion and finds they are unable to toggle caps lock state on and off using a single press whilst ZoomText/Fusion is running.

Detail

From ZoomText 2018 onwards Freedom Scientific use the caps lock key as a dedicated shift key for ZoomText functions.  Although the key can be re-assigned to number lock the way it alters the activation of caps lock cannot be disabled. 

Resolution

Whilst ZoomText/Fusion is running the software please press the caps lock key twice within a second then ZoomText/Fusion will announce the state of caps lock in speech.
