A ZoomText customer struggles to locate the mouse pointer whilst using ZoomText even with selected pointer enhancements enabled.
Please find below two solutions that may help with this problem.
You can change the mouse pointer enhancements to add enhancements that help you locate the pointer more easily.
1. Open ZoomText toolbar and click Magnifier tab.
2. Click black arrow on Pointer button and choose Settings to modify the current settings.
3. Then click Custom radio button and make modifications in the next steps.
4. Under Pointer Locator section click Type and select a locator type, then choose a colour and thickness using the other controls.
5. If the pointer locator is not always required click the radio button below Displayer pointer locator and choose one of the options besides Always, if you choose “When modifier key is pressed” click to enable the checkbox next to the desired modifier you wish to trigger the pointer location enhancement.
6. When done click ZoomText menu > Configuration > Safe as default, then click Yes when prompted to overwrite the settings.
If you find that the route keystrokes are useful but long winded you can assign them hotkeys using the steps below. You will need to configure a hotkey for each function.
1. Open ZoomText window and click Preferences > Command Keys.
2. Then enter the word “Route” without the quotes.
3. In the list double click “Window: route mouse to view”.
4. Then assign the hotkey you wish to use by setting the initial character and checking the boxes for the modifier key. A suggestion might be CONTROL+SHIFT+1 etc.
5. Then click the Enable hotkey button then click OK.
6. Then click OK button in the main Command Keys dialogue.
7. Then click ZoomText menu > Configuration > Save as default, then click yes to overwrite.
