ZoomText – Remove Outlook Ai Squared COM add-in

Problem

A customer is experiencing problems with ZoomText or Fusion whilst using Microsoft Outlook application.

Applies to

  1. ZoomText
  2. Fusion

Resolution

If there no other sources of problems with Outlook you may try disabling the AHOI application specific module for Outlook.  The COM add-in may disabled temporarily to see if it improves matters. 

Using a mouse

  1. Click File > Options > Add-ins.
  2. Then click the Manage drop down and select COM add-ins and click Go button.
  3. In the add-ins list uncheck any add-ins showing ‘AiSquard MS Office COM add-in’.
  4. Then click OK to save the settings.
  5. Then close and restart Outlook.

Using the keyboard

  1. Press ALT+F and down arrow to Options, then press ENTER.
  2. Then press letter A multiple times or use DOWN ARROW to locate Add-ins in the category list.
  3. Press TAB and press ALT+A to navigate to the manage drop down control.
  4. Use UP/DOWN ARROW to select ‘COM add-ins’ then press TAB to reach Go button and press SPACEBAR.
  5. USE UP/DOWN ARROW keys to browse the list, press SPACEBAR to  uncheck any items that appear as ‘AISquared MS Office add-in’ then, repeat as necessary if there are multiple such items.
  6. Press TAB to reach the OK button and press SPACEBAR to save changes.
  7. Then close an restart Outlook.
