ZoomText/Fusion – Configure auto start up

Problem

A user or technician encounters a ZoomText installation that fails to start when Windows starts.

Applies to

  1. ZoomText
  2. Fusion

Resolution

ZoomText/Fusion can be set to automatically start up for a user when the computer is 
started.

Using the mouse

  1. Click Start button to open the Start menu. 
  2. Then type to search ZoomText or Fusion then click to open the search result.
  3. Click on the ZoomText/Fusion Taskbar button to make the main window active.
  4. Then click ZoomText/Fusion menu and choose Settings > Program.
  5. Then click to check the items below as required for the user:

    Enable ZoomText in the Windows Logon Prompt (requires admin privileges)
    Start ZoomText automatically when Windows starts



  6. Click the OK button to save changes.
  7. Then click the ZoomText/Fusion menu then choose Configuration > Save As Default (this may require authentication with Windows).
  8. Then click Yes button when prompted to overwrite the settings.

Using the keyboard

  1. Press WINDOWSKEY to open the menu. 
  2. Then type to search ZoomText or Fusion then press ENTER to run the search result.
  3. Press CONTROL+CAPSLOCK+U to make the main window active.
  4. Press ALT+Z for ZoomText or ALT+F for Fusion and choose Settings > Program and press ENTER.
  5. In the dialogue activate the items below as required by the user pressing SPACEBAR to check each item, then pressing TAB to move to the next setting shown below:

    Enable ZoomText in the Windows Logon Prompt (requires admin privileges)
    Start ZoomText automatically when Windows starts



  6. Press TAB to reach OK button and press SPACEBAR to save changes.
  7. Then press ALT+Z for ZoomText or ALT+F for Fusion to open the menu then choose Configuration > Save As Default (this may require authentication with Windows).
  8. Then press TAB to reach the Yes button and press SPACEBAR on it.
