ZoomText - Voice Assistant blocks mic audio in Zoom meetings app

Problem

ZoomText Voice Assistant may block microphone audio in the Zoom meeting app.


Resolution

To resolve this issue you can disable the ZoomText Voice Assistant temporarily or permanently in the ZoomText window.

  1. Click the ZoomText taskbar button or press CONTROL+CAPSLOCK+U.
  2. Then choose the Tools toolbar in the ZoomText window.
  3. Click the arrow drop down for Voice Assistant and choose Settings menu.
  4. Then uncheck “Enable voice assistant” checkbox and click OK button.
  5. [Optional] If the Voice Assistant feature is not required you can make the change permanent by clicking. the ZoomText menu > Configuration > Save As Default and click Yes button when asked to overwrite settings.
  6. To restore the Voice Assistant to normal operation click Tools > Voice Assistant drop down > Settings then check “Enable Voice Assistant”.
  7. [Optional] To complete the operation of restoring the deactivated Voice Assistant click Tools > Voice Assistant drop down, then check “Enable Voice Assistant” and click OK.
  8. Then save your settings as described in step.0
