Problem

Where this laptop is used by a screen reader user they might suddenly lose speech after login. This may be due to the mute being accidentally being engaged by the user. Awareness of the following hotkeys may help avoid future accidental operation. This mode is list under NAV code: 24059.


Resolution

Please note the following information on hotkeys below for sound placed immediately after escape on the top row:

• F1 mute
• F2 volume down
• F3 Volume up


FN key information

• The Fn key is sometimes used to execute special key functions or engage the function lock feature. Which toggles to allow use of the special functions with single keypress or as a chord with the Fn key as a chord.
• The Fn key is placed on the bottom row of the keyboard on the left hand side if the spacebar. It is the second key in from the extreme left (just to the right of the control key).
• To engage Fn lock press FN and Escape together toggle Fn lock status.
