BrailleSense 6 – UEB input is not accepted in calculator app

Problem

When using the built in  Calculator app on the BrailleSense 6 notetaker entering input in UEB format is not accepted or gets changed to computer Braille.

  1. BrailleSense 6/BrailleSense 6 Mini

 Resolution

The Calculator app has its own settings for Braille Code which can be changed to UEB rather than computer Braille.

Advanced uses may use the global hotkey chord F3-C to open calculator from anywhere.

 
  1. Press F1 to open the Start menu.
  2. Use space-4 and space-1 to navigate to Utilities menu and press ENTER.
  3. When in the calculator app press F2 to open the menu.
  4. Then use space-4 and space-1 to navigate to Option Settings and press ENTER.
  5. Then press F3 to TAB to Braille Code setting.
  6. Press SPACEBAR to change the setting from Computer Braille to UEB.
  7. Then press F3 to TAB to OK button and press ENTER, calculator is now set by set to default to your selected Braille code.

Advanced users may use the global Braille hotkey chord space-G to temporarily switch between UEB and computer Braille.
