BrailleSense 6 – Using Install App Installer to add Android apps


Problem

A customer wishes to install an Android app without using the Google Play store.


Resolution

Since Firmware 2.0 an App Installer is available within the Program menu that install a number of useful applications without having to use the Google Play Store.

  1. Press F1 to open the Start menu.
  2. Then press space-4 or space-1 to navigate to Program and press ENTER.
  3. Then press space-4 or space-1 to locate App Installer and press ENTER.
  4. When App Installer opens use the space-4 or space-1 to navigate to the app you wish to install, then press ENTER.  After a short time you will hear installation progress.
  5. Once the installation is finished you can then re-enter the Program menu item and inside should be the newly installed app.

Note
Any Android apps if installed via App Install or Google Play Store will show up under Program menu.
