JAWS - Download and installation (For IT Technicians)

Problem

An IT Technician is tasked with installing JAWS for an end user.

Resolution

The steps below are for installing JAWS onto a local computer or client computer on a network.  


Offline installer

Please follow the points below to successfully install JAWS on a computer system managed by IT staff.

  1. Log in as Administrator or have the ability to promote user to admin during install
  2. Download the JAWS offline installer package for the correct version of JAWS to avoid problems with firewalls during installation.
  3. After installation restart the PC, log in as Administrator and perform a manual software activation.
  4. Respond to any prompts and wizardds to set up auto-start for the user, then test to ensure that the end user will be able to access the compute when windows starts.
