A potential user would like to know the basic system requirements to install and use JAWS on a computer system. 

Resolution

Please find below details of system requirements to run JAWS locally on a client computer. Please see notes below for any exceptions.


JAWS General System Requirements

The below requirements are for running JAWS locally on a typical client computer.

  1. Operating System Windows® 11, Windows 10, Windows Server® 2019, and Windows
  2. Server 2016.
  3. Processor speed 2.0 GHz i5 dual core or higher processor recommended.
  4. Memory (RAM) 8 GB or more recommended.
  5. Required hard disk space 2 GB with more space required for additional voices.
  6. SSD drive recommended.
  7. Video Video/Graphics card with support for DirectX 9 or later with WDDM 1.0 driver.
  8. 1024x768 display resolution.
  9. Sound Windows compatible sound card (for speech)

Note

Windows 2016 is no longer supported in JAWS 2023 as has reach end of life.
