FS Auth – Activate or extend ZoomText/Fusion 90 day trial (Internal)

Problem

You need to activate for the first time or extend an existing ZoomText or Fusion 90 day trial license.

Resolution

If you have requested an extension and have had it confirmed by Sight & Sound proceed using the steps below to extend the trial.

If 40 minute mode expired

If the product does not start eg. no speech or magnification is provided and an error message displays informing you that the 40 minute demo time has expired immediately after the computer starts please see restore 40 minute demo mode.  Then use the instructions below as appropriate.

Extend using trial using Internet

For home user customers or using domestic internet connections use Internet Activation method to extend the trial.

  1. Press CONTROL+SHIFT+U to open th main interface or click he ZoomText/Fusion button in the taskbar.
  2. Click to open the ZoomText or Fusion program menu or press ALT+Z for ZoomText or ALT+F for Fusion.
  3. Then select Help > License > Update Authorisation.
  4. Then select Update Authorisation to proceed.
  5. When prompted select Activation method choose Internet (Automatic) by clicking Next button or press ENTER.
  6. At the Authorisation Code prompt press TAB to reach the drop down and click it or press ALT+DOWN ARROW.
  7. Then select Trial and enter your trial 20 digit code if it is not already shown, then click Next or press ENTER.
  8. The activation will then take place update the trial license, if successful press ENTER on the Finish button.

Extend trial manually

For customers in a business or organisation you may need to use manual activation method to update the trial key.

  1. Press CONTROL+SHIFT+U to open th main interface or click he ZoomText/Fusion button in the taskbar.
  2. Click to open the ZoomText or Fusion program menu or press ALT+Z for ZoomText or ALT+F for Fusion.
  3. Then select Help > License > Update Authorisation.
  4. Then select Update Authorisation to proceed.
  5. Either click or use UP/DOWN ARROW keys to select the option Manual, by telephone or fsactivate.com then click Next or press ENTER.
  6. On the next screen make suree you are at the locking code number and press CONTROL+C to copy it or take it down for the next activation steps.
  7. Use the TAB key to move to Authorisation number or use the mouse to highlight the edit box, then enter the trial code 20 digit authorisation number.
  8. With a browser please visit www.fsactivate.com website, and select the link Retrieve an Activation License Code.
  9. On the nextg page enter the 20 digit authorisation and the Locking Code number from the installed product, then click Submit button on the web page.
  10. An activation license code number will be returned.   Please either use the Copy button on the website or mnaually highlight and copy the displayed code to clipboard.
  11. Return back to the activation wizard and paste the code into the Activation License Code edit box.
  12. Then click Next to have the activation extend your trial, if successful activate the Finish button to complete activation.
