BrailleSense 6 – Daisy Mode flashes up periodically on Braille line

Problem

Whilst reading text on the Braille line the message ‘DAISY Mode’ periodically flashes up every few seconds disrupting Braille reading.

Resolution

The words DAISY Mode periodically flashing up on the Braille line are intended to alert the user that the Media Mode switch on the front panel is set to DAISY Mode.  In order to fix the problem move the media switch to the left most position which is Application Mode to prevent the DAISY Mode alert.

Detailed steps

  1. Examine the front panel on the BrailleSense 6 and note the three position slider switch far left which is the Lock Switch.
  2. Then examine the next control to the right of the Lock Switch which is another three position slider, this control is the Media Mode switch which has three positions.
  3. Slide the Media Mode switch to the left most position to select Application Mode.  
  4. The Braille line should no longer periodically show DAISY Mode.
