BrailleSense 6 - Upgrade Android from 10.0 to 12.0

Problem

A customer wishes to know if the BrailleSense 6 and BrailleSensee 6 Mini notetakers can have the Android OS updated from the supplied version 10.0.

Resolution

HIMS released Firmware 2.0 in December 2023 for BrailleSense 6 and BrailleSense 6 Mini notetakers which comes with update to Android 12.0 and is offere as online and offline update.  Please see BrailleSense 6 Firmware 2.0 for further information about the update.  

Online update

  1. This update is available through the normal update mechanism within the BrailleSense 6 over the air updatre Braillesense 6 Online update procedure

Offline update

It is also possible to update offline using the download links and procedure linked below. The offline update may be particularly useful to organisation users who posess  more than one BrailleSense 6 unit to update.

Note

Customers should be aware that the update is a very large 2.4GB file and on slower connections may take some time to download.
