Below are listed are applications Nuance have tested that are deemed to be compatible with Dragon Naturally Speaking version 15.0.


Compatible applications

  • Windows/File Explorer: On Windows 7, Windows 8.1 and Windows 10.
  • Internet Explorer 11.x: Full Text Control, Menu Tracking, Natural Language Commands, and ability to say links.
  • Mozilla Firefox: Full Text Control, Menu Tracking, Natural Language Commands, and ability to say links.
    NOTE - Support available in Dragon Professional Individual 15.3.
  • Google Chrome: Full Text Control, Menu Tracking and ability to say links.
  • DragonPad: Full Text Control, Menu Tracking and Natural Language Commands.
  • Windows WordPad: Full Text Control, Menu Tracking and Natural Language Commands.
  • Windows NotePad: Menu Tracking
  • Microsoft Word (Office 2010, 2013, 2016, 2019): Full Text Control, Menu Tracking and Natural Language Commands.
  • Office 365 supports plain dictation only.
  • Microsoft Excel (Office 2010, 2013, 2016. 2019): Full Text Control, Menu Tracking, Natural Language Commands.
  • Microsoft PowerPoint (Office 2010, 2013, 2016, 2019): Menu Tracking and Natural English Language Commands.
  • OpenOffice Writer 4.1.2: Full Text Control and Menu Tracking.
  • Corel WordPerfect X7, X8: Full Text Control, Menu Tracking and English Natural Language Commands.
  • Compatibility is only available for an English or French installation of Corel WordPerfect.
  • Microsoft Lync 2010, 2013: Menu Tracking.
  • Microsoft OneNote 2013, 2016: Menu Tracking.

Additional details on application support:
All applications listed support direct dictation.
Full Text Control allows you to use voice to perform direct dictation, selection, correction and cursor movement within text.

  • Menu Tracking provides the ability to use voice to "click" an application's menus, buttons, dialogs boxes, etc.
  • Natural Language Commands let you state your intent within a specific application instead of following the menu-selection and mouse steps of the Windows interface.
