Problem

A JAWS Home user using a domestic internet connection wishes to activate their JAWS license.

Note

If your computer is managed by an organisation or a business please refer relevant IT staff to the following information JAWS manual authorisation (for Technician).

Resolution

The following steps assume that JAWS been installed and the computer has restarted with JAWS running and needs to go through the software authorisation process to activate the license.

1. Respond to the Update Authorisation prompt is by pressing SPACEBAR to proceed with authorisation.
2. On the next screen press ENTER on the radio button option  “Internet (Recommended)" ,.
   
3. On the next screen you may be prompted to enter a 20 digit authorisation number if none if present, after entering the authorisation number press ENTER to continue.  
4. The activation wizard commences Internet authorisation automatically and should respond by informing you authorisation has been successful, press ENTER to complete the authorisation proces.
   
5. When the Finish button is announced press ENTER again.
