FS Auth - Your authorisation is for an earlier version of this product

Problem

When JAWS/ZoomText/Fusion starts a dialogue is posted that indicates that the product authorisation found is for an earlier version of this product JAWS/ZoomText/Fusion.

Applies to

  1. JAWS
  2. ZoomText
  3. Fusion

Resolution

  1. When a Freedom Scientific product first starts it checks for appropriate authorisation.  If authorisation found is for an earlier version of the product than is currently running it will indicate this condition and then run in 40 minute demo mode.  
  2. When this happens it is advisable to check whether the license is sufficient for the version running by checking ILM authorisation key or check USB dongle authorisation.  In either case it is important to pay attention to the information provided about the last release allowed. 
Depending on the outcome one may need to do any of the following:
  1. Run the ILM authorisation manager to update the installed key (where the ILM reports a later version than the installed authorisation).
  2. Visit Check ILM License information. If authorisation is insufficient for the Freedom Scientific product order an upgrade to the latest version.
  3. Downgrade to the version indicated by the installed authorisation.
