JAWS – Use FSCompanion to get speedy JAWS help

A JAWS user wishes to get help speedy help on using JAWS.

Resolution

A new feature from JAWS 2025 and above is the FS Companion AI assisted help tool. Once in the chat with FSCompanion type your query in and get an answer back.

Launching FSCompanion

  1. Press INSERT+J to move to the JAWS window.
  2. Press ALT+H to open the Help menu.
  3. Press R to access the Web Resources submenu.
  4. Press C to select FSCompanion and press ENTER.
  5. A browser window will then open to the FSCompanion website.
  6. When the page opens the focus will land on the entry edit prompt to type your query.
  7. Press ENTER to have FSCompanion analyse the query and provide a response.
  8. To read the responses use H, SHIFT+H, TAB, SHIFT+TAB, and UP/DOWN arrow keys to navigate between messages.
