JAWS - M365 Copilot notes
Problem
A JAWS user requires some information regarding use of Copilot and JAWS.

- Copilot and M365 Coplilot
Resolution
Copilot is an AI assisted chatbot app provided by Microsoft. Two versions of it exist each of which work in similar fashion:
- Copilot - free version
- M365 Copilot - with Microsoft 365 subscription
Open Copilot
- Press WINDOWS key and enter Copilot at the pompt then launch either Copilot app.
- Once the focus will move to the prompt edit box, you can type a question and press ENTER to get a response.
Screen layout
In the main window nearer the bottom is a prompt edit window to enter your queries, above this is the chat area for any replies from Copilot.
You can press TAB to reach the Expand Navigation button, by press SPACEBAR will allow you into a list of previous chats and applications associated with Copilot 365.
Additional controls
- From the prompt edit box press TAB to rotate through various controls such as:
- Add Content - for adding a file with your query Start dictation - to start accepting voice input from connected Microsoft.
- Send button - sends the query to Copilot chatbot.
- After entering a query JAWS may speak the text Copilot writes to the screen automatically, to navigate and read manually by pressing shift+tab.
- Replies are in blocks of text, arrow keys navigate between the blocks of text.
