JAWS - Read a Microsoft Powerpoint presentation

Problem

A JAWs user who has a Powerpoint presentation file loaded into Microsoft Powerepoint wishes to read the presentation slideshow. 

Applies to

  1. JAWS and Microsoft Powerpoint

Resolution

  1. With the Powerpoint file loaded press F5 to start the slideshow from the first slide.
  2. Press UP/DOWN ARROW keys to read any slide text.
  3. When the last line is reached press SPACEBAR to advance to the next slide.
  4. Repeat steps 1 through 3 to finish reading the Powerpoint presentation.
  5. Press ESCAPE to exit the slide show.

Speaker Notes

Users who are giving presentations with Powerpoint may also read the Speaker Notes for a given slide using the keystroke CONTROL+SHIFT+N.
