Lenovo V15 G2-ALC Ryzen models - change function keys assignment

Problem

You need to change the assignment of the function keys on Lenovo V15 G2 ALC laptop.


Resolution

When on their default setting you can do the following:
  1. Use the Fn key whilst pressing any Function key to carry out the regulation function key press instead of feature key press.
  2. Change the BIOS settings to return those keys to traditional function setting.  In this mode special functions can only be accessed while holding the FN+function key.

Change function key settings

  1. Go to the Bios by tapping the F2 key on power on
  2. Press the right arrow key once to go to “Configuration”
  3. Down arrow five times or until you get to “Hotkey Mode”
  4. Press Enter to select Hotkey Mode and then use the arrow keys to highlight “Disabled”
  5. Press the enter key to select “Disabled”, followed by the F10 to save and exit.
  6. Enter key to select “Yes”
