Lenovo - Disable hotkey mode on Lenovo V15 G4

Problem

A JAWS/ZoomText/Fusion user encounters a problem where they are unaable to use the function keys to access functions/

Applies to

  1. Lenovo V15 G4

Resolution

When Hotkey Mode is enabled this reserves the function keys for laptp specific functions and requires pressing Fn+Function key to access the true function key.  For many users this is not the desired behavoiur as function keys are most useful to customers using screen reader or magnifier products JAWS/ZoomText/Fusion to acccess key functions.

Workaround

A temporary workaround is to press Fn+Escape to switch off hotkey mode but this may not be convenient for users who make frequent use of function keys.  However this may require frequent use.
